Warehouse Production Plant Access Control & Video Surveillance System Upgrade

Regional Tech LLC successfully completed a large-scale physical security system upgrade involving the replacement of an existing access control and video surveillance infrastructure.

Project Scope

- Migrated an existing 32-door Brivo access control system to a new Verkada access control platform while maintaining continuous operation across all 32 secured openings.
- Replaced 120 existing Hanwha and Hikvision cameras with 120 new Verkada cameras, including both indoor and outdoor devices.
- Integrated 32 monitored door position switches (DPS), request-to-exit (REX) motion sensors, and monitored emergency exit release devices to support secure access control operation and life-safety requirements.
- Supported system installation, device replacement, testing, documentation, and commissioning.

Challenges

During the project, it was discovered that none of the existing 120 cameras or associated cabling had been labeled. As a result, there was no reliable way to identify which cable corresponded to each camera, creating challenges for installation, maintenance, and future troubleshooting.

Solution

To meet the customer’s requirements, Regional Tech LLC traced, identified, and documented every camera cable throughout the facility. Each newly installed camera and corresponding cable was professionally labeled at the appropriate IDF location with:

- IDF Name
- Network Switch Number
- Switch Port Number

Results

The completed labeling and documentation process provides clear device identification and establishes a structured infrastructure for future maintenance, troubleshooting, and system expansion. All 120 cameras, 32 access-controlled doors, monitored door position switches, request-to-exit devices, and emergency exit release devices were tested, commissioned, and verified fully operational upon project completion.
